The school is among the most internationally famous UK theatre schools by alumni — Amy Winehouse (the BAFTA- and Grammy-winning singer of Back to Black, one of the most influential British singer-songwriters of the early 21st century), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice of the Spice Girls), Dua Lipa (the Grammy-winning singer of Future Nostalgia), Daniel Kaluuya (the Oscar-winning actor of Get Out and Judas and the Black Messiah), Rita Ora and Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine in Aladdin 2019) were all Sylvia Young pupils. The school's DfE Music and Dance Scheme funded scholarships provide substantial fee remissions.
